Established in 2016 by the Health in Construction Leadership Group (HCLG) with the support of the British Safety Council, Mates in Mind charity exists to improve the mental health and wellbeing of workplaces across the UK.
We do this by providing the skills, clarity and confidence to employers on how to raise awareness, improve understanding and address the stigma of mental ill-health within the workplace.
We believe that there is no health, without mental health.

Explore our Annual ReportsWe were founded to support the construction sector and it remains our mission to transform the construction sector, spreading our message and providing the ongoing support needed for organisations of all sizes to act to improve mental health in and through work. The effectiveness of our approach has gained recognition across higher-risk sectors and so we have extended our focus to include workers in industries beyond construction, enabling more UK workplaces to drive positive change, so that work is good for workers' mental health.
